A beautiful painting of a peasant woman collecting water in an urn from the local fountain, or well. The figure has a very noble stature, a typical pose of many of the figures in Breton's paintings. The painting is further enhanced by details of the landscape, and the rocky ground, whilst showing a glimpse of the sea, and beach, probably of the coastline of Brittany, where Breton undertook alot of his paintings.
