A delightful picnic scene with a family picnic interrupted by two peasant children being offered some of the picnic food by a girl from the family sitting at their picnic.There is a strong contrast from the well to do family picnicing with their china service and ample food, whilst also being very well dressed, with the two peasant children. Clearly this is further illustrated by the title of this oil painting.
